Graham Hellestrand, PhD, MBA and CPEng, is a founder and the CEO of EST. This
is the 4th start-up company he has founded over a period of 30 years. He is a
member of the Board of Directors of National ICT, Australia Ltd. (NICTA), Australia's
ICT research company having more than 600 employees, and was a Board member of
VaST from 1997 until 2007. He was chosen by The Bulletin/Newsweek (Australia)
as one of "Australia's Best & Brightest" in June 2007.
Graham is an Emeritus Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University
of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia, and a Fellow of the IEEE and The
Institution of Engineers, Australia. Dr. Hellestrand has published in excess
of 100 referred papers in international conferences and journals and is the principal
author of the first two patents that underlie VaST's technology.
Neville is a founder and the Chief Technical Officer of Embedded Systems Technology.
Immediately prior to EST, he was the Chief Architect for VaST Systems Technology
Corp., where he invented the timing-accurate dynamic translation technology that
enabled the modeling and simulation of the fastest high-accuracy processor models
in the world.
Neville has over 30 years experience in private industry in the USA and Australia.
From 1984 to 1997, he was a founder, Chief Engineer and member of the board of
directors of Hypertec, an Australian PC/x86 enhancement board design and manufacturing
company. Hypertec grew into a global entity with sales and support offices in
Europe, USA, Asia and Australia, and revenues of more than $100m. He was a Principal
Engineer at Evergreen Technology in Oregon from 1997-1999.
Neville holds a BSc and BEng (Elec, Hons.) from the University of New South Wales.
His area of technical expertise includes microprocessor modeling, processor architecture,
and creating innovative and fast simulation technologies.
John Blair, BSc Elec. Eng. (Hons), MBA is based in California and combines his
experience as an entrepreneur and software engineer to work with clients on business
challenges and opportunities that require a deep understanding of the underlying
technology.
John has successfully taken a number of his own projects from concept through
funding and startup to commercialization. Drawing on this experience, he works
with early startups developing business, technical and venture funding strategies.
As Partner of the McKenna group and Senior Associate at Booz, Allen and Hamilton,
John was a senior advisor to leading technology companies.
John has advised on technology, business, marketing and engineering strategy
with a focus on data communications, networking and Internet software. He also
advises some of the world's largest technology companies in matters of antitrust
and intellectual property litigation.
John has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Magna Cum Laude, from
the University of New South Wales, and an MBA from Stanford University. He has
authored numerous papers on technical and commercial aspects of the Internet,
broadcasting and consumer electronics.
Patricia Hughes is one of the Founding trio of Embedded Systems Technology and
is General Manager of EST, Australia. Prior to helping found EST, she was also
a Founder of VaST Systems Technology (VaST) and General Manager of VaST Australia
from the 1997 spin-out from the University of New South Wales through to late
2005. In this role, she participated in the strategic planning functions of the
business and held ultimate operational authority and responsibility for the day-to-day
operations and growth of VaST Australia's business. Patricia is fulfilling a
similar seminal role for EST.
EST is Patricia's 3rd start-up, she was a Founder and Director of CDS Australia
from 1981 to 1992, which grew to be the 2nd largest professional public accounting
software developer in Australia. She has held Senior Management roles with profit
and loss responsibility in a number of companies and has over 30 years experience
in market development, marketing, sales and new product development with major
international and small entrepreneurial companies in Australia and Europe, and
has a depth of experience in sales, operations and customer support.
